What means various abbreviations?
Only through understanding and clarity of services we can gain client's full satisfaction. We try not to use specialist's vocabulary and computer abbreviations. But sometimes this is neccessary. We explain incomprehensible phrases below.
Author's system
Is website/application/program written by our company, not containing any prepared elements and others' solutions. Most individual and most optimised system adjusted to client's requirements.
CMS (Content Managment System)
Web application helping in maintaining websites. With CMS client can modify the pages (pictures, texts and other elements) without professional knowledge.
Domain name
Domain name is an internet address of website. That is text, which we type in address field of browser to open requested website. Domain is for example "crazybeaver.net".
Web Hosting
Web hosting service on internet server makes the website visible in internet.
Server
Computer which store websites. Must be always running and have security mechanism. Servers provide hosting service.
Internet Browser
Application needed to watch websites. Internet browsers are Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Opera. Internet browsers are often mistaken with search engines.
Search engine
Search engine is a website which makes possible getting to requested information by searching by current phrase.
Most popular search engine is Google.
Positioning
Modyfing and advertising website to make it better visible in search engines.
Update
Updates is every change of website (graphic or text), which makes site more up-to-date.
Usage stats
Stats make possible watching website's popularity. You know what way visitors find your site, how many regular visitors you have and when visitors come to your website.
Portal
A website of very high complexity, providing the information on
general or specialized topics and usually many different services. Portals very
often are creting online communities. An example of a portal can be yahoo.co.uk.
Advertising banner
Image or animation which is advertising website on another websites.
Link
Redirection from the website to another website. Redirection happens after clicking linked object on the website. Links can be text or graphic (image, animation).
